Harmonie and Chris Kugele have accomplished many things during their time at Roger Bacon High School. Harmonie has played volleyball, basketball and softball in her time here and Chris has played football, basketball and baseball as a Spartan. They have been named to All-League teams 4 times and hope to add to that by the end of the Spring season. Chris will attend Urbana University in the fall to continue his football career while Harmonie will be attending the University of Cincinnati. Recently, Harmonie broke the school record for career homeruns (20). Chris was in attendance when this happened and congratulated his sister with a hug when she returned to the dug-out. “I’m just so proud of her and happy for her as well!”, said Chris, who also hit a HR earlier in the season. After some research, the Athletic Department has found that no other brother/sister duo has hit more HR’s than the Kugele twins! To their knowledge, they are the first and only twins to hit a HR in the same season!
“It has been very fun to watch Harmonie and Chris grow and mature as student-athletes. Their competitiveness helps drive their teammates and they will truly be missed by Roger Bacon”, said Mr. Rossi.
Mr. Spaeth says, “Both of them work extremely hard on and off the field/court and they also are extremely personable and can talk to anyone! Those two traits will take them very far in life. It has been a pleasure getting to know them over these last couple years!”
Pictures say a thousand words and from these below you can see for yourself the incredible bond these two have.
