Congratulations to our three Spartans who earned Student Athlete of the Month honor for February!
Clarissa Craig ’21 – Clarissa wrapped up her Roger Bacon career as the all time leading scorer (1,240) and rebounder (679) in girls basketball history. She maintained an A average in the classroom during her first semester which helped her maintain her 3.75 GPA. Craig was named GCL Co-ed Player of the Year, District 16 Player of the Year and Southwest District Player of the Year!
Belle Nye ’21 – Belle was the leader of our 18-3 (14-0 GCLC) league champion girls bowling team this past season. Belle ranks top 10 in her class academically and holds a 3.85 GPA while taking on multiple AP classes. Nye also ranked in the top of the GCL Co-ed this season in multiple categories: 2nd in average (165.4), 2nd in total pins (7,606) and 1st in high game (237). She helped lead the girls team to a program record 18 wins and a 2nd place finish at Sectionals.
Marjoni Tate Jr. ’21 – Marjoni was the leading scorer for our varsity boys basketball team this past season at 12.9 ppg. In the classroom, Marjoni maintained an A average during his first semester to help bring his GPA up to a 3.8. Marjoni helped the team finish in 2nd place in the GCL Coed after a last place finish last season. He averaged just under 14ppg in league contests and shot nearly 45% from deep in league games as well. One of those shots from deep was a buzzer beater to defeat Carroll in his last home game of his career!
