The Spartan cross country team had a strong showing on Saturday at the Harrison Invitational. With several experienced leaders unable to race this week, many rookie runners stepped up and led the way. Junior Charlie Johnstone led the way on the boys’ side, dropping over two minutes from his personal best time. Junior Elijah Fredette, sophomore Jack Rewwer, and freshmen Matt Weisensel and Luke Dearborn also improved this week. In the girls’ race, freshmen Katya Walker and Sarah Dirr led the way for the Spartans, once again finishing the race side by side.
Next week, the Spartans compete at the Fairmont Firebird Inviational in Kettering.
