On Wednesday evening the Girls Soccer Varsity team was able to get back into the win column with a 3-0 victory over Seven Hills at home. In spite of a slow start, the Spartans were able to maintain control through most of the first half, and finally had a break through with 8 minutes remaining, when Anna Schulkers sent a long direct kick into traffic in front of the goal that was able to find a way into the back of the net. The second half was all Spartans, and just over 10 minutes in, freshman Jocelyn Carraher played a ball through to Abby Stewart who drove a shot off a Seven Hills defender that crumbled the girl and deflected into the net for the second goal. Seven minutes later Joee Lawwill completed the scoring, when she took a pass from Sam Mumper, spun off in the middle of the penalty box, and slid the ball through two defenders into the goal. The defense was able to post its 6th shutout of the season, and Goalkeeper Taylor Stahl was credited with three saves.
